I wanted to let you know that Stella and Reese are very happy.
They visit each other almost nightly and go for walks with us.
Stella has about 9 outfits now and loves wearing her dresses.
She is a very girly girl and prances on her leash when we take
her for walks in her new dresses. She loves to show them off.
She even puts her head in the hole when we are trying to get her
changed. She is very spoiled and even has her own pillow on the
bed to sleep by her mommy.
Reese is happy too. He loves the kids and has learned to fetch a
football for my son. He has a little blue nerf football just for
him to play with. He is very protective of the family and house.
He enjoys Stella's company when she comes over and even waits
for her to get a drink first while he waits next to her after a
walk. They are so cute together.
Thanks so much for helping us complete our family with such
wonderful pets. We have told everyone how great you all are to
have treated these dogs with such care and love.

Mary,
It has been three and a half years now since we adopted our
dog Enzo (was Malcome) from Pals for Paws. Enzo is doing great.
My wife and I had a baby boy four weeks ago (our first child)
and Enzo has been great with his new little brother! I’ve
attached a picture of the two of them.
Thanks again Mary, our family wouldn’t be complete without
your help.
Sincerely,
A and K

Hi Lani and Mary,
We just wanted to write to you about our trip to Iowa and
let you know that we have a nice new home.
We enjoyed many new places and experiences along the way. We
got to stop about every hour and get out and play. Wow did that
make us tired. We had a nice place in the backseat right by our
new mommy and daddy. Sometimes we had to fight a little over the
space, but most of the time we got along real well and enjoyed
cuddling up.
When we got home we played and ate some supper. Then we took
a three hour nap. After that we got to meet a bunch of new
friends because lots of neighbors came over to meet us. What a
friendly neighborhood. They could not believe we were only 8
months old! But we did hear them all say we were so cute and
doing very well.
Last night we slept through the night. Traveling really made
us tired. We have been on three walks already this a.m. and mom
and dad are teaching us new things. We are trying very hard to
learn and enjoy our time alone with each of them. Sometimes when
we get together to learn, we just annoy each other, so mom and
dad are working with us separately. We heard them say that we
are ornery and every single thing is new to us so they said
something about patience. (Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah). We have
discovered that we can see ourselves in their basement window
and we really like running over to it. We also have a new game
called “fetch”. We like running after something, but do not like
to pick it up and bring it back. We figure if they want it, they
should go get it!
We really appreciate your saving us from the bad man. It is
people like you who make the world a better place. We thank God
for you and the good work you do. You have saved so many puppies
like us and our tails cannot wag enough when we think about you.
Because our lives have forever changed, we did not want to think
about the past. So we have changed our names and really enjoy
them. We responded to them right away. I decided that I did not
want to be called Gracie, so my new name is very queen like. It
is Isabella and I am going to be called Izzy. My brother’s name
is Dooley and he is going to be called Dooley! We do not want to
forget you, but we want to start fresh.
We are attaching some photos of us from yesterday. We will be
sending more along the way. Thank you again for saving our lives
and helping us to find our new home. We are so grateful that we
got to stay together.
Your pals, with really big paws, forever,
Izzy and Dooley

Hello Pals for Paws!
I just wanted to send you a quick update on our family.
Stella has been with us for so long now, we can't remember
when she wasn't. It did take her a long time to get used to
house manners, but she got there about 6 months ago, like a
light went on. After several Ipods, watches, shoes, and stuffed
animals, she has finally figured out that chewing is not as much
fun as just relaxing and playing with her appropriate toys. She
does not need to be crated anymore at any time, and is just the
perfect companion. She has provided us with so much love. Her
only time on the floor is spent getting from bed to bed, couch
to couch, eating or playing. She is constantly in the car on
rides with us, too. She's quite the companion to my daughter who
is now 10, and my son, who has taught her to fetch her favorite
stuffed animal (the last one she chose not to destroy). She
drops it right at his feet over and over, endlessness awaiting
him to throw it again. She's hilarious. I don't think I've ever
seen a terrier fetch exactly like a retriever, but she does it
beautifully. And, she can catch ANYTHING mid air.
I have attached a recent picture from February of this year.
We lost her best friend, Kali (our yellow lab - also adopted
at age 6) to a sudden bloat a couple months ago. Stella was
really sad, and so were we. We are waiting for a while to add
another dog, so we can get over the loss of Kali, but we will be
checking your dogs, because we believe in rescue. Stella is our
youngest of 5 dogs over 15 years, all of whom we rescued.
Mary Helen, I just wanted you and your organization to know
that we appreciate what you do, and that we absolutely love
Stella. I know you were not the most excited about our
communication at first, but I just wanted to again assure you
that our home was indeed the right place for her to be! Thanks
for everything you do for these animals.
Take care.

We
got Phoebe (aka Tori) two years ago from Mary. Just had
to send an update on her. She is fine and just a great pet
to have around. There is always a lap to sit on and just be
loved. Phoebe still loves to ride in the car and take long
walks.
Thank you Lela & Becky...

Hi
Nikki -
Cali is doing wonderfully. We have not had one ounce of trouble
with her. She and our little dachshund, Maggie, get along great.
When we got to our house - Cali sniffed around for a little
while - then she and Maggie started playing. They must have
played for an hour and a half non-stop! Our cat, Francine, likes
Cali because Cali doesn't bother her. Maggie plays with Francine
every chance she can get - sometimes getting a little too rough.
Cali has seen Francine - has even sniffed her - but has no
interest in her.
I did take her to our vet just so Cali could get to know her and
the smells of the place without having to get any shots or
anything unpleasant - a nice visit, I guess. I had done some
checking online and my vet agreed with me - we believe that Cali
has some Jack Russel in her - but also something else, too,
because of her calm nature. Her coloring is definately
dachshund. She is the sweetest thing and we just can't believe
anyone would give her up! She's been to work with me all week
and did just fine there, too.
I've have taken a few pictures of her and Maggie together. I'll
attach them to this email.

Merry Christmas!
 I
just wanted to drop you a line to send you an update on
our sweet littledoggy - Miss Sally Rene Harrold! "Silly
Sally", as we call her, loved camping this past summer
and going on nightly walks with her daddy. She
continues to be such a wonderful part of our family and
we are so very thankful that you rescued her -- it seems
as though she was rescued just for us! We love her and
thank you so much for everything that you do!

Hi
everyone at pals for paws / Julie.
My
forever family is great. I am a spoiled big boy and I
love to lounge around on my moms Egyptian cotton
sheets. I am a very good boy in the house and I get toys
and rawhides all the time. I get to eat the best of the
best food and I have gained some weight. I look great.
My mom says that she is the first person that I have
ever owned. That is because I am real smart and I kind
of try to run things. I was so excited Christmas morning
that I could hardly contain my excitement, because Santa
brought me presents too. I love my toys. Thank you for
finding me the very best family and I know now that I am
here to stay and my family and I feel very blessed. Here
are some pictures of me. She only made me put on the
antlers for a picture for you guys. I did not love the
antlers.
God Bless you
all,
Sarge (Kathy

Hello
 I
would like to thank Pals for paws for the great job
there doing in saving our canine friends and finding
them wonderful homes. Also I would like to thank Linda
Fritts for she was the one that I worked with when I
adopted Sydney (he was known then as Nicholas) his ID#
was2005-209 we adopted him on Dec 16 2005 he was about 3
months old. Sydney is now just over 2yrs old and has
just been the biggest joy to our family. Our other
Aussie (Casey, who is a rescue dog too) and Sydney are
like brother and sister now, they are connected at the
hip so to speak. We have a great time taking them trail
riding and camping with our horses, its there favorite
thing to do. I have attached some pics of them out
enjoying the trail rides which include swimming in the
creeks and ponds along the trail. They also love to
chase the squirrels and rabbits along the trail too.
They also enjoy lounging under the shade trees in the
summer, but when the sun starts going down they spool up
and start playing chase. Sydney loves to be the one that
is always being chased. When he was little he had a hard
time
 keeping
away from Casey's speed but as he grew faster and
stronger now he has given Casey a good run for her
money. They run and play in the woods several times a
day playing there game of tag. They are so much fun to
watch, they keep us laughing with there stunts and
games. Sydney has become quite the little frisbee dog
too, he will outlast Casey playing frisbee every time.
Anyways, I had come across his old adoption paperwork
and wanted to share with Linda and the whole pals for
paws team another success story that you all made
possible. Sydney is spoiled rotten and has the life of
luxury now.
A big thanks from our family to yours, keep up the great
work your doing because these little guys are worth
it!!!!
Thanks
Robin and James

Hi,
We
thought you'd be curious to know how "Harold" is doing with us.
Well, he's GREAT! We named him Baxter and he's growing a bit -
twenty pounds now - and is very well behaved. Our grandchildren
loved him when we took him to Pittsburgh to visit. He travels
beautifully in the car (sleeps most of the time) and we seldom
have to use the crate now, except when we go away without him.
He's a good sleeper, and for the past five nights he's slept
in a large dog bed in our bedroom. He wakes us up at 7:30 on the
dot, and spends most of his day keeping track of Barb and I. It
bothers him when the two of us are on different levels or in
different rooms, especially in the evening when he wants to
settle down in his smaller dog bed which we keep in the den near
the TV.
He's smart, or at least we think so, and knows how to sit and
lay down, but he's not good at coming when called unless there's
a dog bowl involved. Stay and Come are the next projects.
He's housebroken, and in fact it was almost too easy. He's
only had two accidents in the house since he's been with us, but
of course we keep him on a regular schedule.
I attached a photo of him for your files. We love him so
much. We think he's in love too, but it's with the four month
old black lab Ruby who lives next door!
Regards,
Tom and Barbara and Baxter

I
just wanted to drop you a note to let you know I am sending you
a package of information on the separation anxiety product and
the flea product I told you about when I picked up Sunny. We
should know where things stand as far as samples and "programs"
for the flea product soon after the first of the year so I will
keep you posted!
As for Sunny, I thought I'd update you on how she's doing!
Things are going great! I couldn't have asked for a more
wonderful dog so I thank you for taking her in and helping me
find her! After we had our first visit to the vet 2 weeks ago,
we found out that yes, she was extremely hypothyroid just like
you had mentioned. She is now back on her meds daily and on
tablets to keep her skin soft so her belly can continue to heal.
She is finally starting to play with her toys and really feel
comfortable around the house. We spent the first two weeks with
her as my shadow, but now she's really finding her independence
and its neat to see her relax! She loves hanging out on the farm
playing with the other dogs and just being outside! Everyone
absolutely loves her! She goes back in on Monday to the vet for
a microfilaricide treatment and to check out a lump on her
belly. After my vet spoke to the vet at Noah's Ark, they decided
they wanted to be precautionary with one last treatment to be
sure the heartworms are totally gone. He also thinks that the
fatty lump on her belly is just due to being hypothyroid and its
nothing to worry about, but we're going to biopsy it just to be
safe. So, we had to push her spay back to the middle of
December. I keep telling Sunny to stick with it because by the
first of the year, she will be a new, healthy dog!
I've attached our newest "Family" picture! I'll keep you
posted on how things go at the vet!
Have a great day!

Hi:
Kaylee is doing well. She has alot of difficulty with the
crate, however. Otherwise, she is OK. She loves everybody, and
everybody loves her. I've attached a few pictures we took last
week.
We received her rabies vaccination certification -- thanks.

Rick

Just thought I would give you an update. My grand daughter
changed the puppy's name to Maya ( the lead dog from the mushing
team from the dog movie Eight Below). Maya loves the Bichon.
Maya spent the first night in a crate, but from then on, she and
Lexie have slept together on my bed. She got house trained
quickly because she would go out with the other dogs. My 14 yr
old Cattle dog is still the boss. I found a registered Border
Collie onlne that is IDENTCAL to Maya. I wrote the woman,
because I've never seen a Border that wasn't black and white.
She confirmed the pup was full blooded and parents were black
and white. I've included a picture of that California dog.
Maya has been a joy to my family. She was really sick in the
beginning. Two rounds of antibiotics for the kennel cough. But
great now. Up to 30 pounds and long lanky legs. I have an acre
fenced and she and Lexie chase until the are exhausted and we
walk ever night after I get home from work. Keep up the good
work. This puppy was just what I wanted.

Thank you for rescueing Jazz (Willow)
from a Kentucky shelter a day before they were going to put her to
death. She has been a real joy and is spoiled rotten but hey that's why
I got her. She gets her daily walks and swims in her own private pool
when she feels like it. Thanks again
Marty
Hey
Mary,
Your Morgan is now Maddie. We changed because our good family
friend's last name is Morgan. But she looks so much healthier.
I'm so glad you were able to find her because she is part of the
family already. She loves it here on the farm.
thanks again
Kelsey H.
Hi,

we are very glad to have her.

Hello!
I
just wanted to send you this picture of our Sally Rene Harrold
(previously named "Echo"). We celebrated her 2nd Birthday this
evening with a trip to PetSmart and Ritter's Custard!
Since adopting Sally in September of 2005, she has brought us
incrediblejoy. Our children truly love her and she has become
our "camping buddy" when we spend weekends in our travel trailer
exploring Indiana.
Thank you so much for bringing Sally into our lives...she is an
important
part of our family!

| "Send a Rescue Person" |
Once I was a lonely dog, Just looking for a home.
I had no place to go, No one to call my own.
I wandered up and down the streets, in rain in heat and snow. I ate what
ever I could find, I was always on the go.
My skin would itch, my feet were sore, My body ached with pain. And no
one stopped to give a pat
Or to gently say my name.
I never saw a loving glance, I was always on the run. For people thought
that hurting me
was really lots of fun.
And then one day I heard a voice So gentle, kind and sweet, And arms so
soft reached down to me
And took me off my feet.
"No one again will hurt you Was whispered in my ear." "You'll have a
home to call your own
where you will know no fear"
"You will be dry, you will be warm, you'll have enough to eat" "And rest
assured that when you sleep, your dreams will all be sweet".
I was afraid I must admit, I've lived so long in fear.
I can't remember when I let A human come so near.
And as she tended to my wounds And bathed and brushed my fur She told me
bout the rescue group
And what it meant to her.
She said, "We are a circle, A line that never ends".
"And in the center there is you protected by new friends".
"And all around you are the ones that check the pounds, And those that
share their home after you've been found".
"And all the other folk are searching near and far.
"To find the perfect home for you, where you can be a star".
She said, "There is a family, that's waiting patiently,
and pretty soon we'll find them, just you wait and see".
"And then they'll join our circle they'll help to make it grow, so
there'll be room for more like you,
who have no place to go".
I waited very patiently, The days they came and went. Today's the day I
thought, my family will be sent.
Then just when I began to think It wasn't meant to be, there were people
standing there just gazing down at me.
I knew them in a heart beat, I could tell they felt it too. They said,
"We have been waiting for a special dog like you".
Now every night I say a prayer to all the gods that be. "Thank you for
the life I live and all you've given me.
But most of all protect the dogs in the pound and on the street. And
send a Rescue Person
to lift them off their feet".
